Dustmitex is an ecology-based solution to the problems of controlling dustmites and fleas. Its main contents 'Boron' is a natural element that is essential for healthy plant growth and aids in the assimilation of calcium in the human body. Borates have long history in the use of insect control, and are also effective against fleas, termites, cockroaches and ants.
How Dustmitex® Works?
Dust mites do not 'drink' water, they hydrate by absorbing moisture through a small gland that secretes a saline solution and draws moisture into the body. Dustmitex® contains a specially formulated borate compound which interrupts this process and the mites dry out and die as the result.
Ants will avoid pure Dustmitex®. It must be disguised in bait. A small undetectable amount of Dustmitex® is mixed with sugar water, peanut butter, or fat, depending on the type of ant. The worker ants will feed on this mixture and bring it back to feed the queen; slowly poisoning the queen and eliminating the entire colony.
Termites are killed upon the ingestion of the borate compound. By treating affected timber with Dustmitex® will eradicate termite infestations.
Fleas: Dustmitex® is highly effective in flea control especially in the larval stage. Direct exposure to Dustmitex® causes desiccation and actual ingestion of larval food will also kill the larvae.
Cockroaches: After coming into contact with borate, cockroaches, being preening insects, will try to clean it off by licking the dust off their legs, thus ingesting Dustmitex® and as the result they dry out and die.
Active Ingredients:
Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate(Na2B8O13.4H20) 98% w/w
Application Directions:
1. Apply evenly to bedding, mattress, furniture, drapes, carpets, kitchen, pets’ bedding, corners & gaps around the house etc. Let dry.
2. For sub-tropical climate, repeat application every 30-60 days. During humid weather, repeat every 15-30 days;
3. For best results, apply at room temperature of 16C or above.
Warnings:
1. Slippery when wet. Allow the applied areas to dry thoroughly before stepping or walking over it.
2. Dustmitex® is clear and odorless, has a neutral pH, and do not stain lightly colored fabrics. However applications may leave very fine white crystals behind. For dark-colour fabrics, apply on the reverse side. Testing in inconspicuous area is recommended.
3. Not for application on human or pets.
4. Keep out of reach of children.
